About the Show

It’s time to blow the shofar, eat apples and honey, and celebrate the Jewish New Year — honoring the creation of the world and all new beginnings!

This original Rosh Hashanah adventure story is part riddle, part scavenger hunt, and part sing-along. Help familiar fairytale characters like Snow White find all of the objects they need to celebrate Rosh Hashanah! We’re counting on you to help create a sweet ending for this participatory tale.

Whether you celebrate Rosh Hashanah yourself, or just want to learn about the traditions of friends and neighbors, all are welcome — and all are invited to enjoy apples and honey at the end of the show!

Length: 45 minutes
All ages welcome, recommended for ages 2 - 8
Hand puppets
Language: English
From Western Mass!

About the Artist

Anna Sobel has been a professional puppeteer since 1998. She first trained and worked as a puppeteer for Kids on the Block while at Wesleyan University, and went on to perform with the educational company Blue Sky Puppet Theater (University Park, Maryland). In 2003 she was the recipient of a Fulbright Fellowship to study puppetry in India as a tool for social change and education. She spent nine months in India and founded Talking Hands Theatre on her return to New York in 2004. Anna holds a master’s degree in educational theater and is also an award-winning teaching artist. Since 2010, she has operated her one-woman company out of Shutesbury, MA, bringing educational shows — and smiles!— to all of New England!
