About the Show
For every child who has struggled to get into their clothes first thing in the morning (and for every parent who has fought valiantly in the battleground of the morning routine), comes Don't Make Me Get Dressed — a gloriously silly and inventive ode to the feelings we have when we choose our clothes… and to what happens when our clothes come to life and choose us.
“You are what you wear!” and “the clothes make the person!”... but what happens when we slow down and listen to our clothes and the colors that they sing, the creatures that they become, the moods they represent and the music of their zips, snaps and buttons!!
Puppet Showplace Theater is thrilled to present this world premiere from local favorites The Gottabees — creators of Squirrel Stole My Underpants and Go Home Tiny Monster. Don’t Make Me Get Dressed is the latest show from our new works Incubator program and the fourth show from The Gottabees to premiere on our stage. With their signature silliness, charm, and insight into the inner lives of children, The Gottabees have created yet another show you won’t want to miss.
Length: 40 minutes
All ages welcome, recommended for ages 3-8 and anyone who has ever had trouble getting dressed!
Object puppetry, hand puppetry, materials manipulation, full-body puppetry
From Boston!
