All aboard for Puppet Showplace Theater's 49th birthday fundraiser party!

Join us on Saturday June 3 for indoor and outdoor puppet shows, arts and crafts activities, made-from-scratch ice cream, an exciting raffle, a brass band puppet parade, and fun for the whole family — all while raising funds to help make puppetry accessible to all!

Every dollar you spend or donate at this event supports our free and reduced price tickets that make it possible for all children and families to have meaningful puppetry experiences together, our investment in new works through our Artist Incubator program and Creative Residency for Black Puppeteers, and more.

  • The Caboose is Loose by Harry LaCoste
    Harry LaCoste is the train conductor of a cheerful red caboose that doubles as a puppet stage for stories, songs, and furry monster antics!

    20 minutes
    Recommended for all ages 0+

  • All Aboard the Puppet Train
    Help decorate a festive train car, and together we'll craft a train for all our puppet friends!

    Puppet Making Station
    Create your own puppet with colorful hair, eyes, noses, and more — created from recycled objects and easy-to-use art materials.

  • Have fun trying on one of the fantastic wearable giant puppets from the Puppeteers Cooperative.

  • Play some games, hosted by our friends at Henry Bear’s Park toy store.

  • Join the parade! Bring a puppet from home, make your own during arts and crafts time, or buy one from our puppet store, and follow behind the band for the big finale puppet parade and dance party!

  • Made-from-scratch ice cream for sale — from our friends at Jamie's Ice Cream!

    Raffle featuring tickets to family-friendly activities, local cultural destinations, and fun summer toys from our friends at Henry Bear's Park!

    Mystery Grab Bags — each $20 bag contains gift certificates, puppets, stickers, and more, but you'll have to open it to find out what's inside!Item description

Insect Tales: Phinni and the Wild Patch

Phinni and his insect friends live in a Wild Patch of weeds and flowers — until one day their home is washed away in a storm! Will they be able to find a new Wild Patch to call home? With colorful and friendly tabletop puppets, John Lechner's original tale explores how bugs and humans alike might care for the natural world.
