Workshops
Workshops can be arranged for school
groups, scout troops, camps, and after school programs for children 3
and up. Various workshops can be arranged by our staff, including rod
puppets, shadow puppets, and simple scarf marionettes. All workshops
include puppet making and performance techniques.

Library
The Boston
Area Guild of
Puppetry maintains a library of puppetry books that is housed at
Puppet Showplace Theatre.
While the books in this library are not available for loan,
the public is welcome to use the library by appointment at times that
are convenient to the theatre (for instance, our lobby is small, so the
hour before a performance is not the most convenient time to have
visitors).
The library includes everything from books on puppet history
to "how to" books for the budding puppeteer. The library also accepts
and is grateful for appropriate donations of puppet and puppet-related
books.
Lectures
Occasionally, our Artist in Residence, Brad Shur,
will prepare a lecture or slide lecture for groups or conferences or we
can recommend other speakers on a limited basis.
Internships
Internships are available at the Puppet Showplace for various
majors: from art education and marketing to art
administration.
We are able to design a program that is suitable for college
and course requirements. Flexible hours are available. For more
information contact our office 617-731-6400.
